When two of Australia’s best known voices; Colleen Hewett and Doug Parkinson, hit the stage at Club Forster on Saturday 10th November it will be the very first time the two greats of Australian music and lifelong friends have performed together on tour.
Both performers are looking forward to presenting a memorable show that will showcase two of the best known and distinctive Australian voices.
Colleen’s illustrious career began in her teens and by 20 she was a star. She went gold with her smash hit Day By Day and she has numerous accolades on stage and screen from Godspell in the early 1970’s to roles in some of Australia’s best loved dramas.
Doug Parkinson has had a diverse career in music and theatre over four decades. His career skyrocketed in the 1960’s with Doug Parkinson In Focus, which became one of the most popular bands in Melbourne. Going solo in 1972, Doug established himself as one of Australia’s most recognisable and distinctive artists.
Colleen said, “The show is going to be extra special for me, performing with my life-long friend the wonderful Doug Parkinson. We are looking to a fabulous night”. Doug said he met Colleen more than 30 years ago and has always been impressed with her soulful voice. “I have watched her through the years having chart success,” he said. “We appeared in a film together back in the 80s, but this will be the first time we’ve appeared together on stage in concert.”
Now the news is out tickets won’t last long for this one off show.
